What does the organisation provide?

A successful LIA placement normally includes:

  • relevant and meaningful assignments
  • participation in the organisation’s everyday professional environment
  • access to colleagues working within the relevant field
  • an appointed supervisor with time for regular guidance
  • feedback throughout the placement
  • assessment input at the end of the LIA course
The student should have opportunities to work towards the course goals in real professional situations. LIA should not consist solely of isolated exercises or fictional assignments.

What does Hyper Island provide?

Hyper Island:

  • reviews and approves the placement

  • provides the course goals and relevant documentation

  • introduces the workplace supervisor to the LIA process
  • remains available for questions and support
  • follows up during the placement
  • manages assessment and grading
  • supports the student if circumstances change

  • participate actively in finding and preparing for a suitable placement
  • communicate professionally with the host organisation
  • agree on learning-focused assignments with the supervisor
  • take responsibility for attendance, communication and development
  • ask for feedback and raise concerns early
  • complete the required course submissions and reflections
